Our Story

Victor Celania, the organizer of the band, started dancing in 2003 and fell in love with the music of the hot jazz, swing, big band and jump blues eras. Upon moving to Austin in 2011, he decided he wanted to put a band together to play specifically for dancers. His journey has taken him and the band to Charleston, SC, Atlanta, GA, Tulsa, OK, Houston, TX, Dallas, TX and San Antonio, TX, in addition to Austin. The band continues to strive for a period-accurate but unique sound and to keep the dancers on their feet!

During the day, Victor is a professional clothier and owns the custom clothing business Established Sartorial. Please visit www.becomeestablished.com for more information!

The Band

Hailing from New York, bass player Josef Pelletier lends an energetic and jovial attitude to the music. Dr. Zack Varner, our reed man, knows just where to add accents and bring it up a notch. Having played hot jazz and swing for over 30 years, David Jellema has swung with the best of 'em and has excellent tone and taste on both the cornet and the clarinet. If you like Bessie Smith and Billie Holiday, you'll love the soulful sound of Sarah Ulloa and her scat singing that's reminiscent of Ella Fitzgerald! Jamey Cummins, like Sarah, is from Iowa and they've been lifelong friends. He's able to adapt his sound on guitar to create unique and inspiring solos and accents.
